Payment methods
Discover how Cord’s payment architecture works: from Dynamic SPEI to Card payments.
Payment Architecture
Cord is designed so that charging isn’t a point of friction at the end of the project, but a fluid, integrated process. By connecting your Stripe account, you unlock two powerful automatic methods, while keeping your manual transfer method as a fallback.
1. Dynamic SPEI (Stripe)
This is the ideal method for B2B operations in Mexico, specifically designed to eliminate the manual reconciliation of invoices.
How does it work? Instead of giving all your clients the exact same CLABE account number for your company, Cord and Stripe generate a unique, temporary, and exclusive virtual CLABE for each payment.
When the client clicks “Pay with SPEI”:
- The system creates an instant virtual sub-account assigned only to that specific quote.
- The client sees the instructions to wire funds from their banking app to that new CLABE.
- When the funds hit the interbank network, Stripe detects them and immediately identifies which quote they belong to (because the CLABE was unique to that sale).
- Cord receives the notification in real-time, marks the quote as Paid, and sends you a confirmation email.
Zero collisions: Unlike the traditional model where you receive a “$15,000” deposit and have to investigate which client sent it, dynamic SPEI makes it impossible for two payments to get mixed up.
2. Credit and Debit Card
The fastest and lowest-friction method. It is presented directly in the in-house checkout without taking the client away from the document.
Key features:
- Supports Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
- Native premium interface (clean gray backgrounds, no redirects).
- Atomic authorization: The moment the client presses “Pay”, the funds are authorized and the quote switches to a Paid status in less than a second.
3. Manual Bank Transfer
If you decide not to use Stripe, or if the quote is for a massive amount where you prefer to save on any commissions, you can leave manual transfers active.
The manual flow:
- The client sees your traditional bank details (Bank, Account/CLABE, Beneficiary) configured in your Settings.
- The client makes the transfer externally.
- You (as the seller) must open the quote in Cord and press the “Mark as paid” button manually once you’ve verified the money landed in your corporate bank account.
