The full CFDI cycle, not just the stamp

This is the Mexico rail inside Cord Invoicing. CFDI 4.0 is a Mexican obligation: if you sell from another country, none of this applies to your account.

Stamping an invoice is the easy part. The work is in what comes after: the credit sale that requires a payment complement, the customer who asks for their own invoice for a sale already included in the global invoice, the correction that requires a substitution. Cord covers that cycle inside the same sales flow.

What's included

  • PUE or PPD based on actual payment: an invoice that is born paid is stamped PUE with the real payment form; otherwise, PPD with form 99.
  • Payment complement: every payment recorded on a PPD CFDI issues its type P CFDI, once per payment, with its status in view; if stamping fails, you write to us and we retry it.
  • SAT codes per line item: the product or service code and the unit code live on the product and also on each line, and the line's code wins. The editor flags which lines would fall back to the generic code, searches the SAT catalog, and the product CSV imports and exports them.
  • Global invoice: for paid sales to the general public that have no invoice of their own, with the periodicity, months and year the SAT requires. A sale is never in a global invoice and an individual invoice at the same time; if the customer later asks for theirs, the global invoice is canceled with reason 04 and issued again.
  • Substitution: fix a CFDI with a new related one (relation 04); payments move to the replacement in the same operation and the original is canceled with reason 01.
  • Cancellation reasons: you choose 02, 03 or 04; 01 is only used when substituting.
  • Foreign customers and the general public: the generic foreign RFC with the customer's own tax ID and use S01, or the generic domestic RFC with regime 616 and the issuer's postal code.
  • Zero retyping: what was negotiated on the quote (lines, codes, taxes and discount) carries into the invoice, stamped with your own digital seal certificate (CSD) if you uploaded it.

What it does not do yet

It does not issue the Foreign Trade complement or IEPS, and automatic reading of the Tax Situation Certificate is still on the roadmap.

How it works

  1. Set up your tax details and connect your CSD.

  2. Review recipient, lines, SAT codes, taxes, payment form and use before issuing.

  3. Cord stamps, stores the XML and PDF, and issues the payment complement, substitution or cancellation when needed.

Availability and scope

Mexico-only rail: income and credit CFDI, payment complements, global invoice and substitution, with your CSD when connected. Every CFDI, credit note and payment complement counts toward the tax-compliant invoice allowance; test documents don't.

Clear limits

CFDI is not offered outside Mexico. It doesn't issue the Foreign Trade complement or IEPS. A CFDI with active credit notes or payment complements can't be substituted until they are resolved, and the global invoice is corrected by canceling it. A test document is never presented as valid with the SAT.
