A quote in Cord is designed to be a legally valid and persuasive commercial proposal.

Quote Anatomy

A winning proposal consists of four main blocks:

  1. Header: Contains your company logo, your tax ID (RFC in Mexico, NIF/CIF in Spain, EIN/Tax ID in the United States, and so on depending on your account’s country), the issue date, and the Folio Number (e.g., COT-2023-085). It also shows who the proposal is addressed to.
  2. Line Items: This is the main table where you break down your products or services. Each item can have a long description with bullet points, an image, unit price, quantity, discounts, and its own tax rate — you can mix a taxed line with an exempt one in the same quote.
  3. Legal and Credit Terms: Here you define the rules of the game. For example: “This proposal is valid for 15 days. Payment must be made within 30 calendar days (Net 30) after acceptance.”
  4. Closing Block (Signature/Payment): This is the Call To Action (CTA). Depending on your setup, the client will see a button to electronically sign or a module to enter their card and pay the advance immediately.

Customization: You can change the accent colors and logo from Settings > Branding, and the welcome message on the public link from Settings > Client portal, to match your brand manual.
