Prior validation, as in-house software
Cord is registered with the DIAN as each issuer's own software: it is not a technology provider and doesn't use one. It builds the document per Technical Annex 1.9 of Resolution 000165 of 2023, signs it with the business's certificate and receives the DIAN's validation in the same call.
What it covers
- Sales invoice, credit note and debit note, with their CUFE or CUDE and the lookup QR.
- Numbering within your resolution: Cord warns when few numbers are left or the validity is about to end, and never sends outside the range.
- Buyers: final consumer, NIT with check digit, national ID or another personal document, and customers abroad.
- VAT per line at 19, 16, 5 or 0%, with 0% lines treated as exempt or excluded as the business decides.
- Withholdings for ReteIVA and ReteRenta when the tax is unambiguous.
- Other currencies with the document's frozen rate to pesos.
- Complete delivery: the signed container with the document and the DIAN's response travels in the email together with the PDF, in a single file.
- Enablement from Settings: the business sends the DIAN test set and checks its result without leaving Cord.
Why it is in beta
The Annex's official CUFEs are reproduced and every document is validated against the DIAN's schemas, but the enablement environment doesn't evaluate a signature without an accredited certificate: the first real validation with an issuer's certificate is still pending.
How it works
The business enables itself on the DIAN portal as in-house software and receives its test set.
In Settings it loads its details, certificate and test range, and sends the set from Cord.
Once the set is passed and its resolution is linked, it issues: Cord signs, sends, receives the validation and delivers the document.
Availability and scope
Businesses in Colombia on Starter or higher, enabled with the DIAN as in-house software. Each validated document counts toward the tax-compliant invoice allowance; enablement documents don't.
Clear limits
It doesn't issue export invoices, contingency invoices, support documents, electronic payroll or RADIAN events, nor report INC, ICUI, ICA or AIU: those cases are rejected before sending.
