Charging the way the deal was actually closed
Besides deposit and balance, a quote can carry a milestone plan: 2 to 24 payments tied to deliverables, project progress or your own dates, which your client approves once and pays from the same link.
Key benefits:
- Milestone schedule: each payment with its name, its amount (percentage, fixed amount or "the remainder") and a visible condition ("on design delivery"). Cord calculates the amounts in the currency's smallest unit and they always add up to the quote total.
- Event-based release: an "on completion" milestone can't be collected by any means until you mark it as completed; then it's due within the agreed days and your client gets a notice. Milestones can also be due on approval, in N days or on a date.
- Visible to the client: the link shows the whole plan with what's paid, what can be paid now and what's waiting for its condition, and the button only collects the milestone payable today.
- Mid-flight adjustments: you reschedule the dates, conditions and days of pending milestones without touching what's already been collected, and your client gets a notice.
- Optional financing interest: for clients you declare a business, simple interest for each payment's term, with the cash price, the interest, the total to pay and the effective annual rate in plain view, and the client's acceptance kept as evidence. For consumers, coming soon.
- Reminders, templates and API: notices three days before and on the day of each payment, templates in Settings, the plan in the API and a webhook when a milestone is completed.
How it works
Set each milestone in the editor with its amount, due date and condition, plus interest if your client is a business.
Your client sees the whole plan, accepts the interest if there is any and pays each milestone once it is payable.
You mark milestones as completed or reschedule dates, and Cord notifies the client and reminds them of each payment.
Availability and scope
Quotes in all 12 countries: 2 to 24 payments as a percentage, a fixed amount or the remainder, due on approval, in N days, on a date or on completion, with templates in Settings and optional interest for business clients.
Clear limits
An on-completion milestone is not collected until the business marks it as completed. Rescheduling changes dates and conditions, never amounts or what has been collected. Interest is only offered for clients the seller declares a business; for consumers, coming soon.
