Add tax information (CSD)
Upload your Digital Seal Certificate to enable automated stamping of CFDI 4.0 invoices.
What is a CSD and why do you need it?
The Digital Seal Certificate (CSD) is an electronic document issued by the SAT that allows you to digitally sign (stamp) your electronic invoices. Unlike the FIEL (e.firma), the CSD is used exclusively for issuing tax receipts.
For Cord to convert your approved quotes or orders directly into an official invoice with the SAT without having to re-enter data on another portal, it is mandatory to upload your CSD.
Steps to upload your CSD in Cord
- Go to Settings > Billing / SAT in the left navigation panel.
- Click the Upload CSD button.
- You will be asked for three essential elements:
.cerfile: The public certificate..keyfile: Your private key.- Private Key Password: The password you chose when processing your CSD with the SAT (Note: this is usually different from your FIEL password).
Warning: Cord encrypts your .key files and passwords end-to-end (AES-256) before storing them. We never use your FIEL; strictly the CSD. Never upload your FIEL (e.firma) for invoicing.
Validations and Common Errors
When uploading your CSD, Cord automatically validates it against the SAT servers:
- Validity: If your CSD is expired (they last 4 years), the system will ask you to renew it on the SAT website.
- RFC Match: The CSD must exactly match the RFC configured in the company’s general data.
- Incorrect password: If the password fails to decrypt the
.keyfile, you will receive an immediate notice.
Once successfully validated, the billing indicator will change to “Ready to Stamp,” and any closed quote will be able to issue its CFDI 4.0 with a single click.
